Doula Support

Birth Doulas

A doula can enhance the birthing experience by providing emotional support, evidence-based information, pain management techniques, and advocacy. Their presence can lead to reduced interventions and increased satisfaction with the birth process, benefiting both the birthing person and their partner. Additionally, our doulas extend their support into the postpartum period, contributing to a smooth transition into parenthood

Postpartum Doulas

A postpartum doula provides invaluable support to new parents during the challenging postpartum period. Their assistance with newborn care, breastfeeding guidance, emotional support, and household tasks allows parents to recover, bond with their baby, and navigate the early days of parenthood with confidence and reduced stress, ultimately promoting a smoother transition into family life.

Shannon Sims Berg
Certified Birth & Postpartum Doula

I bring a nurturing and calm presence to the birth environment through my experienced understanding of the many stages of pregnancy, labor/birth and postpartum. My intention is to support by providing touch, movement and knowledge while I advocate for the various decisions that may come up prenatally and throughout labor. I am passionate about guiding families into becoming parents and providing a beautiful space for babies to arrive into. Every birth I have witnessed is an honor to have been invited into. Being included in such a momentous and intimate event is a gift.

I also love to assist in newborn care- daytime or overnight. Providing extra support for new families with breastfeeding, sleep, light meal prep and setting up space to bring a new baby into. I have many resources to share as we are fortunate to live in a place that provides many opportunities to learn and grow and connect with experienced professionals /parents in the community.

My certified Birth Doula training was in 2003 through Childbirth Enhancement Foundation. I also am a DONA certified Postpartum Doula. I mentored a teen mom for Catholic Charities for 2 years prior to my training. I am certified in infant CPR and have extensive knowledge of using essential oils in labor into parenthood.

I am a Mom to a wonderful grown son who grew up in Santa Fe and now lives on a Southern NM farm while running a chile business. I also care for a few little people I met in my doula world along with other part-time work. Spending time in nature and traveling are other ways to create joy in my life.

Having worked as a childcare provider over the last 10 years, Page is excited to be pivoting her focus towards birth support! A lover of all things growing, she is driven by a commitment to empowering women in embracing their biology, as well as their vision of a healthy, fulfilling birth experience. Her goal is to support parents in connecting with their intrinsic wisdom of knowing what works for them, and advocating for those needs while providing an informative, compassionate presence.
Page is currently working towards her Doula certification through DONA International. Her degree in Human Ecology from College of the Atlantic in Bar Harbor, Maine has provided her with an interdisciplinary understanding of our relationship to environment, community, and health. She lives in Taos with her loving partner and two dogs, where she tends to a rambunctious garden and fly fishes the Rio Grande year-round.

Becoming a doula has been a slow and gentle process that first began with Co leading an educational homestead near Salem, Oregon in 2017. The first births I attended and held space for were those of our 5 mama goats. Noticing and being with the intelligence of these beautiful creatures sparked my curiosity in exploring and learning more about the birthing world of humans. For the past 6 years I have supported families in childcare, including some postpartum support as well. My passion is to support mothers and families and to walk this life caring for past and future generations.

In 2019 I completed a massage school program in Kauai, HI at the Pacific Center for Awareness and Bodywork; a trauma informed and self awareness based massage school. And later that year began and completed a 100 hour Doula training and a Preconception Parenting Course with Barbara Essman at the Sacred Birthing School

My offering is relational, presence based, and focused on attunement and deep listening. Our bodies are so wise, and I hope as a doula fo support your family in the ways you feel are most important. It is a great honor to be invited into this sacred space and my intention is to meet you exactly where you are at, elevate your voice, your confidence and nurture you through this initiation process of both receiving and birthing; for we are all birthed of mothers and deserve support.

I am a mother of two adult children and my career has been in family health from pregnancy to parenthood for over 20 years. I've also worked in pregnancy education and labor support but it's postpartum and infant feeding doula care that is my passion. My specialty is early feeding support and postpartum mental health. I'm a parenting and wellness coach and help parents thrive through their postpartum time. I can answer your questions, help create wellness, and nurture new parents as they learn to care for their baby. I'm available for consultation and overnight care so parents can sleep. I enjoy cooking and healthy meals. I first start with building trust and communication with my clients so I can better know how to support you. Book a consultation with me to see if we're a good fit. I want you to feel comfortable knowing you have experience, compassion, and wellness on your side as you navigate this precious and vulnerable time. Congratulations!
